I do not know what that other person was talking about, but wyandottes are not small!
They average around 6 lbs. That is not a small bird!
I've had Silver Laced wys off and on for years, and they were the tamest of all of my chickens, except for my Delawares.
They can be a very mellow breed, so long as you handle them right.
Just like us humans, they have feelings & emotions too.
Chickens can be quiet at times. (like when they r near a mate)
The can also be aggressive if u bother them. Try not to grab anything from them that is theirs.
It is said that wyandottes (pronounced wine-dotts) can be more aggressive because they r smaller. You know what they say. I am small but mighty!
I suggest no roosters though, I do suggest a hen. Hen is lay eggs & r so sweet & love to cuddle. Plus eggs r only fertile when there is a male! So do not worry!
I suggest Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Araucana is & Buff Orpingtons. They r so sweet & loving.
Good luck! :) Hope this helped.
