Topic

First off, i'm not a weirdo... but me and my fiance were talking and some how got onto the topic of chicks and roosters, and rather or not a rooster has a ball sack and why chickens can lay eggs without roosters... its weird.. lol
but yeah, just wondering

Do roosters have balls? And how do chickens lay eggs without roosters?

Rooster is testes are located inside their body, believe it or not.

A hen can lay an egg without a rooster. It is like their menstrual cycle.
They only need a male to have chicks.

chickens lay eggs without roosters, but the roosters fertilize them. They can lay them, they just wo not be chicks.

roosters do not have balls!?! they have Special organs called cloacae which are their equivalent of testicles, and males and females have thaa same external organs, the insides are all thats different, femls stil have ovaries and suh but males are different

Just like humans & other mammals have estrus cycles, where an egg is released, hens lay eggs. Birds have their estrus cycle every couple weeks, but egg-laying hens r especially bred to do this a lot more often. When they do lay eggs, they r still eggs, just not fertilized since there is no rooster.

Roosters do have a sort of testes, but they r probably located a lot more internally than most mammals'. They do have some form of intercourse, anyway, so the eggs become fertilized in the same sense as any other animal.

yeah, roosters have testes that are needed to fertilize eggs. chickens lay eggs without roosters for the same reason you do, its ovulating. just because the eggs are not fertilized does not mean they will stop coming.
